Workshop Three – Professional Development Academy

The UNCP Counseling Program’s Professional Development Academy, in partnership with the Chi Sigma Iota – Phi Sigma Chapter, are proud to announce the third workshop in 2013-14 series.  Please see below for the information on this great event.  Attendance at all four workshops results in a certificate of completion of the PDA that adds value to your workplace marketability and shows commitment to your training as a professional counselor.  All students and outside counseling professionals are welcome!

Interested in working with clients struggling with addiction?  Curious about what play therapy is all about?  Want to know how college counseling differs from school counseling?  Join us for our third Professional Development Academy workshop of the year!  This career panel aims to educate our counseling students about what counselors in various specialties do on a daily basis and what special considerations students should take into account when making decisions about their counseling careers.  Dr. Karen Pruett, director of the UNCP Career Center, will facilitate a discussion among panel members about the counseling profession today.  Students will be encouraged to ask the panel members questions about their counseling specialty.
