The Diagnosis and Treatment Planning course, led by Dr. Schwarze, in partnership with the Office of Community and Civic Engagement, held a Wellness Fair on March 26, 2013 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Chavis University Center on campus. Information was provided on common concerns people face and resources that are available in our community. Topics included anxiety, sleep, mood, and substance abuse issues, as well as other general health concerns. Organizations participating in the fair were Healthy Start, Health Keeperz, the Rape Crisis Center, and the Lumber River Council of Governments. The purpose of this fair was to promote wellness to students and community members who may not be aware of all the external resources available in and around our community. By attending the workshop, participants were able to learn knowledge, skills, and resources in the community to assist in emotional wellness and health.
